DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE
MODEL UNITED NATIONS SOCIETY
Model United Nations is an extracurricular program in which students simulate the roles of delegates to the United Nations. Participants engage in committees and deliberations focused on addressing significant global issues. Through this dynamic and interactive experience, Model United Nations strives to facilitate the exploration of peaceful resolutions and cultivate thoughtful discourse. By engaging in civil debate and negotiation, the program promotes the development of diplomatic skills and fosters an appreciation for international cooperation in tackling complex challenges.
The Department of Commerce Model United Nations Society’s goal is to increase public knowledge and comprehension of contemporary global concerns by having student delegates recognise and address critical issues that the world faces. Students are encouraged to discuss and reach a compromise through Model UN, which creates creative resolutions to address major global issues. The DOCMUNSOC’s Program, DOCMUN, is a cornerstone of numerous departmental efforts, fostering the growth and self-assurance of our student delegates.
The DOCMUNSOC is more than just an educational opportunity. It's a life-changing experience that propels student delegates into the heart of international politics, fostering extraordinary empathy. This quality is not just important but essential in the realm of international relations, paving the way for successful diplomacy.
